An architect will be required to design/develop/code applications/systems that are in accordance with both technical and functional requirements.
Applications will be coded in accordance with established industry and company standards. Architects work under the direction of designated team leads and should demonstrate excellent problem solving capacity.

Essential Responsibilities :
Under moderate supervision, develops and builds applications within department in a fast-paced object oriented environment.
Utilizes numerous sources to obtain and build development skills.
Applies skills in software application development as assigned.
Receives business requirements from a Business
Analyst/architect/development lead to successfully develop applications, functions, and processes.
Conducts and is accountable for unit testing on development assignments.
Must be detail-oriented with ability to follow-through on issues.
Must be able to work on and manage multiple tasks in addition to working with other areas within the department.
May be responsible for mentoring junior level developers.
Enhances existing applications to meet the needs of ongoing efforts within software platforms.
Records and tracks time worked on projects and assignments.
Develops a general understanding of software platforms, and the credit card industry.
Develops a good understanding of the project development/management processes, methodology, and the impact of the project management metrics.
Participate in team, department, and division meetings as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience with J2EE platform (Java, EJB, JMS, JSP, Java Servlets), XML based technologies to include DOM and SAX based parsing, XSLT, XML schema, XML binding.
Understands project development/management processes, methodology, and the impact of the project management metrics.

Requirements:
Four year college degree and six or more years professional experience or high school diploma or equivalent with eight or more years professional experience is required.
Some experience in OO development, J2EE (JSP, JMS, EJB, Servlets, JDBC, etc.) XML, and RDMBS preferably with Oracle 8i or 9i. Candidates should have experience architecting and developing highly scalable, highly available enterprise applications.
Experience with full systems lifecycle design and development, including some business/process analysis experience.
Project or team management experience years developing highly scalable, highly available enterprise applications.
Extensive Experience building and architecting both Internet and client server applications.
Enterprise systems integration experience.
Experience integrating with mainframe systems, with a focus on MQSeries middleware.
Knowledge of and experience with transactional database access concepts.
Experience with development methodologies.
Knowledge of application-level security concepts.
Experience developing/integrating Java based application frameworks.
Experience with internet based financial applications.
